After their original scout headquarters were destroyed in an arson attack, the group has worked tirelessly to fundraise and build their brand new HQ building – the Phoenix Scout Centre – literally raising from the ashes.
Facing ever increasing material and labour costs, challenges with building design and planning, oh and don’t forget a pandemic as well, the completion of their building is an amazing achievement for the Group and the community of Hazlemere.
The young people of the 11th Hazlemere will soon be back in the HQ – ‘on home ground’ to enjoy everything the building can offer them.
The design and facilities are in place to allow the wider community to share in the success for other bookings and hires for local events.
